Originally from Rockford, Illinois, Chrise currently lives in South Carolina with her husband and five children. She has worked in Georgia, California, and Illinois throughout her career as a speech-language pathologist for over 28 years. Chrise has worked in a variety of settings including pediatric hospitals, clinics, private practices and schools. In her last position, she was the speech-language department coordinator in local public schools.
When asked what drew her to the profession, Chrise said helping children as well as the medical model. "Learning about all of the components that go into communication was fascinating to me." Diagnostics are her favorite part of the job. Chrise enjoys sharing and learning from graduate interns and new graduates/clinical fellows and says she too is constantly learning in this profession.
In her spare time, Chrise enjoys movies, reading, gardening and traveling. Her late husband died of ALS in 2013, and she learned so much from his struggle with eating and communication as the disease progressed. Living these issues firsthand led her to her passion of finding everyone’s voice.
