Every parent/ guardian wants exceptional care for their child. The difficulty is most clinics are busy/ overcrowded, will evaluate the child but put the child on an extended waitlist for treatment, and have limited availability to service around the family’s busy schedules. Transportation is definitely a barrier for children with special needs. It takes a lot of physical and mental preparation to transport a child to a clinic setting. After preparing your child for transportation and just going to one-hour therapy sessions, likely only one discipline, you have possibly taken two or three hours out of your day, mostly with transportation.
