Perks of Working for Tilton’s Therapy

No, we provide MOBILE OUTPATIENT therapies!
Home health is for patients who are homebound, in need of skilled nursing (which we don’t offer), under the care of a physician, and typically experiencing slow functional decline due to injury, illness, or health conditions.
Outpatient (WHAT WE DO) is for patients who are looking to improve their daily function, quality of life and wanting to progress and prevent future issues following discharge from an inpatient facility.
● Sit back and relax while we gather your patient’s information. We will hand them off to you when they are ready.
● We handle the marketing and gather the referrals. Have a special skill set or interested in a niche market? We can do the legwork in exploring options to get you doing what you love!
● Our admin team communicates with families and patients through the initial patient registration. Once we receive the patient registration form, typically submitted through our website, we contact the physician to obtain medical records and sign off on a specifically tailored script for therapy.
● Once the script is signed and we have what we need for the back end, the Director of Rehab will send you your prospective patient’s information to contact for an evaluation.
● Perhaps the most wonderful benefit of mobile therapy: YOU are in charge of YOUR schedule. You will reach out to the family to schedule treatments that work best for you and your patient.
● Paperwork is a vital piece to therapy and we want to make it as easy as possible.
● Admin keeps track of all your submitted notes and will send you monthly reminders on any that are missing.
● We know you’re busy so we give some leniency on notes. Treatment notes are due by midnight on Friday for the week prior.
● Admin is also your handy dandy second pair of eyes. We do periodic auditing of all clinical documentation because we want to protect you as our valued therapist just as much as us as a company in the event of an insurance audit.
● Despite working remotely and independently, we pride ourselves on having an inclusive culture.
● Mentorship opportunities are readily available.
● We have University and College Program Affiliations with opportunities to take on students for their Level I and II fieldwork.
● We are constantly nurturing and building our community relationships and actively participating in events. Check out the ‘Community’ thread in Slack for any upcoming collaborations.
● Speaking of Slack—we use this for a safe “office talk” space. We give you access to the interdisciplinary team for each of your patients, your entire team region-wide, and the whole discipline department, and the corporation company-wide. Lots of opportunities to chat it up with like-minded people.
● “Tilton’s Topics!” The Directors of Rehab post videos into Slack answering common questions or addressing important updates to keep you in the loop.
● Our monthly and quarterly newsletters will keep you in the loop with what’s going on company-wide.
● There are so many cool benefits of being in the patient’s environment; you can have individual attention, not be interrupted by other clinic staff, and have more parent/caregiver engagement and attention.
● Our therapists love making recommendations with materials/toys/equipment in the home because the likelihood of follow-through skyrockets.
● Families love to be able to see therapy as it is in their home; they can use the items in their house to facilitate learning and progress in all disciplines.
● Rather than getting the commonly asked “where do you get that toy/game?” they get to learn how to use toys they already own!
● Time in between patients in the car provides a fantastic mental break—listen to audiobooks, decompress by singing to your favorite music, or call your grandma…
● The possibilities are endless. As wide-ranging as each scope of practice is for all disciplines, is how far we reach!

"I was initially drawn to Tiltons for the autonomy and lack of bureaucracy. I had several very negative leadership experiences in a row and wanted to just do my job, count on myself and my work ethic and not deal with anything else. Since then, I have been able to regain some of my confidence, and step up as the needs arise. I enjoy the support that is provided while still also maintaining and supporting ultimate autonomy and self-guided professionalism.

I have enjoyed the mentoring opportunities and the support from leadership as well. I have many strengths both as a clinician and leader, and I feel that those are recognized and appreciated. In addition, I have technology challenges and never feel uncomfortable asking for the help I need.

I initially came on as a part time 1099 employee, having been burned in my last positions. I have had the opportunity to regain comfort and grow into a full-time leadership role for Tiltons as of 2/24. I was supported in assuming this role comfortably.

As I have worked in a wide variety of settings, the biggest difference for me is the autonomy and professionalism with which I am treated, while still having support available as needed. I enjoy the home based model, similar to EI services. I do find that home based services has its own set of challenges, but overall it works well for me.

If I were speaking to another therapist considering joining our team, I would be clear about the challenges of home based services (driving, needing to provide your own materials and equipment etc), the challenges of working in isolation often (which as a new grad can be very daunting), while emphasizing the positives of control of your schedule, autonomy, independence, self reliance, and high professionalism with support as needed. Honestly, the overall documentation criteria are not any worse than any other clinic setting, and for those who are more technology savvy, I think it can be done very efficiently.”

“I have been working for Tilton‘s therapy for five and a half years. I have lived in Las Vegas for over 30 years and this is by far my favorite company to work for out of all of the many places I have worked in this city.

Tilton's allows you the ability to make your own schedule, work the hours you would like to work and doesn’t keep you trapped inside one facility all day long if that is not for you, but also allows opportunities to work in the school district if you want to stay in one location for longer periods of time. For the first four years, I worked as an independent contractor, and just last January I decided to become an employee, W-2. It has been the best decision I made, as Tilton‘s provides a wonderful package of benefits, competitive salary, and the opportunity to accrue as much vacation time as you want based on the schedule you decide to keep. Tiltons has a great administrative team that works hard for the therapist to get the authorizations from insurance companies and doctors offices so that the therapist can focus primarily on treating the clients. Paperwork is at a minimum and easy to do on the format they have chosen through clinic source. Tilton’s has seasoned therapist on staff who are able to provide support/mentoring to new therapists and /or therapists new to the company so that you don’t feel isolated as a mobile therapist. And most importantly, Tilton's does not micromanage the therapist, trusting, and believing in us to do our job and make the appropriate decisions for our clients. The owner and main management are therapists by nature, which is huge because they understand the needs and goals of the therapist better than just any general management in a corporation style workplace ”
