Kim is married and has two sons. She moved to Las Vegas, NV after graduating from the Masters program at Eastern Illinois University in 1993 and has lived in the Las Vegas area for over 25 years (and counting). Kim has worked in a variety of settings including private practice, early intervention, acute care hospital, rehab hospital, outpatient rehab, long-term care, home health care, and school district.

Kim holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCCs) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and Nevada State license to practice from the State of Nevada Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology & Hearing Aid Dispensing Board.
