Team Feature: Edith Medley, Director of Human Resources

This month, our featured team member is Edith Medley, Director of Human Resources!

Edith has been working in the industry since 2009, working in outpatient clinics with both adults and pediatrics simultaneously. Having begun in entry-level positions, she eventually worked her way into training, insurance/case management, and human resources.

Director of Human Resources

After Edith tore her left ACL in 2008, she was naturally sent to a physical therapist post-surgery. “I never forgot my caring and wonderful PT… and almost one year later, I began my career in this industry.”

The aspect of working in this profession that Edith most appreciates is that she has the chance to make a difference in someone’s life every single day. Throughout the course of her career, Edith has worked in a variety of administrative positions that include work with call centers, non-profits, translation/interpretation (Spanish), teaching/tutoring, the travel industry, high-tech, and medical industries, all of which allowed her to grow in her unique skill set.

Giving back to the profession is something many of our team members engage in, and Edith enjoys participating and volunteering in events that give back to those with extraordinary or special abilities!

Originally from Mexico, Edith and her family relocated to Kansas City, Missouri when she was a little girl due to her father’s occupation. All of her formative and formal education was in the US. They also lived in San Jose, Costa Rica, Phoenix, AZ, and Portland, OR, but Edith affectionately feels that Kansas City will always be a “home base.”

In her spare time, Edith expresses, “we LOVE adventure, traveling, sports, walking, swimming, reading, relaxing, and laughing.” Her family is big on serving the community and they love to volunteer! They are also very involved in their church. Edith and her family (husband and sons) have lived in fabulous Las Vegas, NV since 2001, relocating from Portland, OR. Initially, the climate and topography were quite a shock for them. Her eldest son was just a baby when they moved to Las Vegas and eventually, her youngest joined their little family in 2011. Both of her boys have grown up in the city of Las Vegas.

Edith is passionate about empowering and encouraging others! She must have a true balance in life and work, as time is the most important commodity in her eyes. Edith focuses on being joyful and most excellent. She is also passionate about travel, other cultures, and knowledge!

Thank you, Edith, for your dedication to your work and the Tilton’s Therapy team!
