We’re excited that our team has began servicing the Northern Nevada communities this month. We looking forward to working with new clients and helping them to achieve maximum independence in their lives. We are highlighting Northern Nevada’s team who are working with these wonderful communities and providing occupational, physical, and speech therapy!

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

MEGAN TABANO, MSOT, OTR/L

A native to Northern Nevada, Megan grew up in Reno and received her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Touro University, Nevada. Megan’s passion for occupational therapy has given her experience working in different settings, such as pediatric outpatient and adults in acute care.

PHYSICAL THERAPY:

EMILY WALTHERS VON ALTEN, PT, DPT

Emily earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from UNLV in Southern Nevada. After providing physical therapy services with the Tilton’s team for the communities of Las Vegas, Emily is continuing to reach out to new communities by providing physical therapy for patients in Northern Nevada. Providing home-based therapy is a passion for Emily, and she has had the opportunity to do so for many years. She appreciates that in her profession, she is able to base therapeutic activities on an individual’s needs, goals, or current ability.

SPEECH THERAPY:

HEATHER KARCHEFSKI, M.S., CCC-SLP

& RENÉE LOSEY, M.S., CCC-SLP

Our team is starting out with two speech-language pathologists in the Northern Nevada region. Heather Karchefski and Renée Losey are passionate speech therapists ready to provide their services to help with communication based on individual need.

Heather is a native of the area and earned her Bachelors and Masters in Speech-Language Pathology from UNR. Renée Losey received her Masters in Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology from UNR as well, and first earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Nevada State College in Southern Nevada.

These two amazing members of our team share their passion through developing treatment plans to assist individuals in their natural environment by improving their ability to communicate with those surrounding them.

DIRECTOR OF REHABILITATION: BRENDA BARRANCO

Brenda serves as Tilton’s Therapy’s Director of Human Resources, Development & Marketing and now takes on the role of Director of Rehabilitation for the Northern Nevada population as well. Working as a part of Tilton’s Therapy for many years, these new opportunities allow Brenda to continue her work with new therapists and expand her reach to new families as well. She applies her clinical knowledge as an Occupational Therapy Assistant to these processes as well as working on new marketing campaigns and outreach.

Coming from Omaha, NE studying occupational therapy, Brenda has worked in various settings for OT. She has experience working in pediatric clinics, home-based, hospital in-patient rehab, as well s school districts spanning two states.

Teletherapy services are also available for individuals who would benefit.
