Team Feature: Ian Camahalan, PTA

We are featuring one of our newest team members this month, Ian Camahalan, Physical Therapist Assistant!

Ian is embarking on his career as a Physical Therapist Assistant with over a year of experience as he joins the Tilton’s Therapy team. He was drawn to the holistic approach to Physical Therapy, particularly, delivering favorable outcomes without the unwanted adverse side effects. Ian enjoys the fact that his profession allows him to collaborate with multiple rehabilitation disciplines in fostering patient-specific tailored interventions. He also appreciates that the profession challenges him to expand his knowledge on current evidence-based practices and assist patients to become more functionally independent.

Throughout his experience thus far, Ian has worked in a clinical setting in outpatient orthopedics, geriatrics, vestibular, and pediatric Physical Therapy settings. He gives back to the patients he encounters in his work, most recently, by starting his own charity fundraiser called “Money for Mobility.” This charitable cause is focused on the allocation of gross motor tools and footwear for pediatric patients in Southern Nevada.

In his spare time, Ian really enjoys traveling. He is originally from the Philippines and as an Islander, he specifically enjoys traveling to tropical destinations.

“I enjoy traveling as it enables me to be culturally competent and be more aware of other’s beliefs and values.”

After living in Las Vegas for 12 years, Ian appreciates the city, as it allows him to grow professionally and socially. It has been his second home after moving from the Philippines.

Ian ensures that he stays active as well, as it helps him handle stress and reset himself both mentally and spiritually. He also enjoys the opportunity to give back to the community through outreach programs and through his own personal fundraisers. Cooking is another passion of Ian’s, as he gained experience working in the culinary industry for seven years before engaging in his career as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Thank you, Ian, for joining our team of amazing therapists! We look forward to all that you will accomplish in your journey as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
