Our featured team member this month is Occupational Therapist, Megan Tabano!

Megan has been an Occupational Therapist for about five years and started with the Tilton’s Therapy team in 2020. Growing up with parents who were in the medical field as a nurse and a paramedic, she was always drawn to become part of the medical field as well. When Megan discovered Occupational Therapy during college, she knew it was perfect for her. She loves that Occupational Therapy is very personal and client-centered and that every client you treat is unique.

Earning a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Science from the University of Nevada, Reno, Megan continued her education and earned a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Touro University. She was born and raised in Northern Nevada and has been in Nevada her entire life, including her years in school. Megan was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority and continued to help advise her alumnae chapter at Nevada.

Megan has worked in the pediatric outpatient setting and acute care setting. She also had the opportunity to serve as a fieldwork educator for a COTA student as well as have many college interns shadow her and learn all about Occupational Therapy. Megan is a member of the AOTA and attends local events to support the children she treats whenever possible.

The aspect Megan likes most about her profession is helping clients develop and regain functional skills in order for them to participate in their day-to-day activities and do the things they love. Megan connects with the client-centered approach to therapy and really enjoys working on functional skills with her clients.

In her free time, Megan loves to ski, exercise, exercise at the gym, play soccer and basketball, spend time with friends and family, and attend music festivals.

“I love watching all my favorite pro and college sports teams from New York and Nevada (Go PACK!)”

Thank you Megan, for your dedication to your clients and for being a part of the Tilton’s Therapy Team!
