Therapist Feature: Danielle Palmer, OT

This month, we are featuring one of our wonderful Occupational Therapists, Danielle Palmer!

Danielle began her career in Occupational Therapy in an outpatient pediatric clinic in 2016. From there she was able to branch out into early intervention services. Danielle also had the opportunity to work overseas in Germany at a US Air Force Base with early childhood and school-aged children.

“My passion has always been working with kids.”

Having a sister with special needs helped Danielle discover the importance of Occupational Therapy. Her sister’s Occupational Therapist made a huge impact, not only on her sister’s life but on Danielle as well as her whole family. She received a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Touro University and a Bachelor of Science with a concentration on Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University.

Danielle has experience working in outpatient pediatric clinics, early intervention, as well as school environments. She has also had the opportunity to teach and mentor multiple level I and level II OT students. The theory or aspect Danielle most appreciates about her profession is how individualized and personalized Occupational Therapy interventions can be, based on the client and their specific needs. In terms of areas of specialization, Danielle has continued her education with multiple classes on feeding difficulties in younger children.

Originally from Las Vegas, NV, she grew up and lived in Southern Nevada for her entire life thus far.

“I love to travel and explore, but Las Vegas is my home.”

Danielle loves how close it is to the mountains, beach, and has many family members who live there. She has a self-professed passion to travel and explore. Danielle loves going to new places, trying the food, and embracing different cultures. In her spare time, Danielle loves to spend time with family and friends. She enjoys swimming and getting outdoors with her dog Charlie, but you also may catch her reading a good book or enjoying a movie. Danielle most enjoys being able to treat kids in the most natural environment for them.

“I feel like I really get to know and grow with the families I work with.”

Thanks Danielle for sharing your experience and working with the Tilton’s Therapy team!
